A worn-out sectional. A mattress that should have been replaced two years ago. A dining set that does not match your new place. An office full of cubicles after a downsize. Furniture is the single most common thing we haul, and for good reason: it is too big for normal trash, too heavy to move alone, too dirty for many donation centers, and too awkward to fit in the back of a sedan. Empire Junk Pick Up solves all of that with a single phone call.
We pick up single pieces and full home loads. We carry items down stairs, out of upstairs apartments, and around tight corners. We bring our own dollies, straps, and floor protection. And we route everything we possibly can to local donation programs before anything goes to a landfill. Call (909) 561-0437 for same-day pickup across most of the Inland Empire.

How Furniture Removal Works at Empire Junk Pick Up
Our furniture removal process is the same as our other services: simple, fast, and flat-rate.
Step 1: Quote It in Minutes
Text photos of the items to (909) 561-0437 or use the form on this page. We respond with a flat-rate price within minutes during business hours. The quote includes labor, the truck, fuel, dump fees, recycling fees (mattresses and metals), and tax.
Step 2: Pick a Window
Same-day or scheduled. We give you a two-hour arrival window and text on the way.
Step 3: We Carry, Load, Sweep
You point at the items. Our crew brings dollies, straps, blankets, and floor protection to handle the rest. Stairs are no problem. Upstairs apartments are no problem. Tight hallways are no problem. We do this for a living.
Step 4: Donation, Recycling, Disposal
After the truck is loaded, items in good condition are routed to local donation partners whenever possible. Mattresses go to mattress recycling programs whenever facilities accept them. Metals (bed frames, metal desks, filing cabinets) go to scrap recyclers. Everything else goes to a state-permitted disposal facility.
Mattress Removal: A Special Note
Mattress removal deserves its own paragraph because it is one of the most common questions we get. Yes, we take mattresses, in any size and any condition. Twin, full, queen, king, California king, crib, RV, custom. Foam, innerspring, hybrid, latex, memory foam, pillow-top. Stained, ripped, soaked, infested, urine-soaked from a dog accident, or in pristine condition because you are simply upgrading.
California has specific mattress recycling rules under the Used Mattress Recovery and Recycling Act. Empire Junk Pick Up routes mattresses to mattress recycling facilities whenever possible, in compliance with the law and consistent with our broader commitment to keeping waste out of landfills. If a mattress is in genuinely reusable condition (clean, no rips, no stains, no infestation), we may also be able to route it through a donation channel.
A few notes:
- Wrap your mattress before pickup if there is any concern about bed bugs or hygiene. We will still take an unwrapped mattress, but a wrap (a basic mattress bag from a hardware store works) protects everyone in transit.
- Box springs come too. They are priced together with the mattress as a "set" in our quoting unless you only have one or the other.
- Mattress recycling fees are included in the flat-rate quote. There is no separate "mattress fee" added later.
Couch and Sectional Removal: The Stairs Question
The single most common reason customers call us for furniture removal is "I cannot get this couch out of my apartment by myself." That is exactly what we are here for.
Our crew handles couches, sectionals, sleeper sofas, and recliners up and down stairs every single day. We bring shoulder dollies, lifting straps, and the technique to navigate tight stairwells, narrow apartment doorways, and 90-degree turns at the top of staircases. There is no upcharge for stairs. There is no upcharge for upstairs apartments. There is no "second floor fee." Stairs are simply part of the job.
For very large sectionals, sleeper sofas with hide-a-beds (which are extremely heavy due to the steel frame inside), or oversized sectionals that cannot be disassembled, we may bring an extra crew member at no additional cost. The flat-rate quote stays the same.
Donation-First Approach
Throwing away a usable couch hurts. We know it. So we make a serious effort to route furniture in good condition to local donation programs before anything goes to a landfill.
Donation partners across the Inland Empire change over time, and each has its own rules about what they will accept. Most refuse furniture with rips, stains, broken springs, missing legs, or any sign of pets, smoke, or infestation. Most also require items to be picked up during specific donation hours. We work within those constraints whenever possible, but the reality is that a lot of "donation-candidate" furniture is actually in donation-disqualifying condition.
If your furniture is genuinely in donate-able shape, you may also want to list it on a local resale site (it has resale value) or arrange a direct charity pickup yourself before calling us. We are happy to help either way.
Service Area for Furniture Removal
Furniture removal is available across the entire Inland Empire, including Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Rialto, Colton, San Bernardino, Redlands, Highland, Loma Linda, Yucaipa, Upland, Montclair, Bloomington, Grand Terrace, Chino, Chino Hills, Riverside, Moreno Valley, Corona, Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Norco, and surrounding cities. Eastern Los Angeles County (Pomona, Claremont, La Verne) is also accommodated.
Apartment Moves, Stairwells, and Tight Access Situations
A huge percentage of our furniture removal calls come from apartments, condos, and townhomes across the Inland Empire. Apartments add a few specific challenges that we handle every single day.
Second-Floor and Third-Floor Apartments
Carrying a queen mattress down a two-flight stairwell is harder than it sounds, and far more dangerous than it should be when attempted by people without lifting straps and the right technique. Our crew brings shoulder dollies and lifting straps that make second-floor and third-floor pickups routine. There is no extra fee for stairs.
Narrow Apartment Doorways
Older Inland Empire apartment buildings often have doorways slightly narrower than modern code, and sectionals or sleeper sofas can be tight to navigate. We disassemble where possible (most sectionals come apart at the connectors), pivot through tight angles, and remove doors temporarily if absolutely necessary (we put them back).
Apartment Complex Loading Zones
Many apartment communities have specific loading zones, time-limited pickup areas, or restrictions on where moving trucks can park. Tell us about your community's rules in advance and we will work within them. We also keep the loading area clean, so the next resident parking there is not stepping over debris.
HOA Communities
Gated HOA communities sometimes require advance notice for service vehicles, designated entry gates, or specific times when contractors are allowed onsite. Mention your community when you call and we will accommodate the requirements.
Elevators
Mid-rise condos with elevators require booking the freight elevator in advance for larger items. Coordinate the elevator booking with your HOA or building management, and we will work within the time window.
Move-Out Day Pressure
If your lease ends Sunday and you have a couch and a mattress that will not fit in the moving truck, we get it. Same-day or next-day pickup is available across most of the Inland Empire. Just call (909) 561-0437 in the morning.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does furniture removal cost?
Furniture removal cost depends on the number and size of items and your location. Empire Junk Pick Up uses flat-rate pricing that includes labor, the truck, fuel, dump and recycling fees, and tax. Single-item pickups (one couch, one mattress, one dresser) start at our minimum charge. Larger jobs are priced as a fraction of a truckload. Text photos to (909) 561-0437 for an exact quote.
Will you carry the couch down from a second-floor apartment?
Yes. Our crew handles stairs and upstairs apartments every day. There is no stair fee or second-floor surcharge.
Do you take stained or damaged mattresses?
Yes. We take mattresses in any condition: stained, ripped, urine-soaked, broken, or infested. We route them to mattress recycling whenever facilities accept them, and to landfill disposal if not.
Can you take an entire houseful of furniture?
Yes. Whole-house furniture removal is one of our most-requested services, especially for moves, downsizes, estate cleanouts, and foreclosure preparations. We arrive with a larger crew and may use multiple truckloads.
Do you take antique furniture?
Yes. Antique furniture is treated with extra care, especially during the carry-out. If a piece appears to have genuine resale value, we may even mention it before loading, so you can decide whether to sell it instead of disposing of it.
Will you donate items for me?
We route donate-able items to local programs whenever possible. If you have a specific charity you would like us to drop off at, mention it on the phone and we will accommodate when feasible.
Do you disassemble furniture before hauling?
Yes, when needed. Bed frames, large dressers, modular sectionals, and oversized desks are often disassembled to navigate tight spaces. We bring our own tools.
Do you take office furniture for businesses?
Absolutely. Office furniture removal is a major part of our commercial work. Cubicle systems, executive desks, conference tables, filing cabinets, and full office cleanouts are all handled. Volume pricing is available for larger projects.
How fast can you pick up furniture?
Most calls received before noon get same-day furniture pickup across our core Inland Empire service area. Even afternoon calls usually get same-day or next-morning service.
